Our Faves from 2023 NeoCon & Design Days

Last month, several employees from our team at Grooms Office Environments attended NeoCon and Design Days in Fulton Market. We wanted to share some of our favorite products, showrooms, trends, and fabrics from this year’s events across Chicago, IL.

Granny Chic

“Granny Chic is here and I’m loving it! Pattern textiles were a huge trend throughout the showrooms. My personal favorite is Tattoo Toile by HBF Textiles. The bold statement of these patterns can really transform a piece of furniture and add character to the space. Begging to incorporate this trend on a future project!”

-Amy Henson, Project Manager

All Natural

“I loved seeing all the natural elements mixed together. Give me all the wood, leather, and greenery!  I loved seeing elements of nature brought into design whether it was in a wallpaper, artwork, décor, or the furniture itself.

I also loved this magnetic, modular lounge from Venue Industries.  And get this—it’s called The Maggie!”

-Maggie Parsons, Support Director

Take a Seat

“As a 90’s baby, the high heel chair was all I ever wanted as a preteen, the NaughtOne Pippin chair is the modern day version of it. It was so nostalgic to see. Looking forward to a future project I get to use this on."

-Samantha Falk, Senior Designer

Take a Stand

“The overall aesthetic of this Pod reminds me of something out of “Meet The Robinson’s” with it’s very futuristic look and feel. When walking into the stand pod the surrounding area was so loud, I felt like I had to scream to talk to someone else. As soon as I walked into the Pod it was so quiet, I felt like I could hear my own thoughts. I also loved the lean back and stand up option, it would be a nice change of pace from seating at a desk all day. Super easy to customize with it’s different options, I hope to see these in more workplaces as they are very adaptable in any space!”

-Kresleigh Hedrick, Designer

Pops of Color

“I had several favorite showrooms this year, but the Encore & Arcadia showroom spoke to me. My favorite color is pink so they won me over with their color pallet carried throughout their entire space and featured furniture this year. I love how the new Sunny lounge chair by Encore had a pop of color (pink obviously) but still looked sophisticated with its overall design.

Another favorite for me (and our whole group it seemed) was the Venue Industries showroom and specifically the Echo 1 seating pod. It would be so fun to see this in a project for Grooms.”

-Andrea Mueller, Marketing Director

All the New Things

“New fabric from HBF called Lawn Chair. This was so special because I met the designer of this collection and she explained this was inspired by the old lawn chairs her mother’s friends would all bring their own over to hang out at each other’s houses in the neighborhood and she named each colorway after her mother and her friends first names. She had touching stories about each women and what they meant to her and the few that are still alive that she keeps contact with. So heartwarming and now I can’t wait to use this fabric to retell her story!

New manufacturer find! This is a manufacturer out of Florida called Venue Industries that I was not familiar with, and I was so happy with their quality and creativeness with design. Many products they produce are meant to be customized, as their name suggests, but they also have standard items like the Maggie which is a magnetic modular sofa solution where all colors shown are individual pieces to be moved around and rearranged. ”

-Victoria Gorham, Sales Manager

All Things Monochrome

“A color palette that uses only one hue of color in varying intensity of value makes a statement. Used with the right color I think it gives a sense of warmth and comfort. It is definitely an office or meeting space that I’d want to be in.”

-Samantha Falk, Senior Designer
