CoxHealth Si3

In January 2020, Cox Si3 moved into the last 3-Wings of the Primrose Building located at the corner of National and Primrose. Moving to an open environment is a huge change for the Cerner team here in Springfield. This change is more in line with the office environment of the Cerner building in Kansas City, Missouri. They opted to move their private offices to the center of the workplace to allow for daylight to fill the space and reach a majority of the workstations. All the workstations are height adjustable to give each employee the option to sit or stand throughout the workday. Monitor arms help create more desk space, especially for those stations with 4-screens. We created “Idea Islands” to allow for teams to gather and share information. The tabletops in this area are coated with markerboard to accommodate writing on them with dry-erase markers. Grooms not only provided the furniture but also acted as the designer selecting the finishes and creating the floor plan. Fun fact, the luxury vinyl tile (LVT) used in the breakroom and copy area is called “Happy Code” which fits perfectly for the client.
